Level 6 Measurement & Construction Economics Programme [5 Credits]

For staff who are employed in estimation and tendering for Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing and Transport and a 12-week programme with ATU [LYIT] blended delivery in Inishowen and Letterkenny.

• Measurement for Estimation – using and entering, orders of dimensions, descriptions, abbreviations, approaches, lists, principles of good practice and accuracy.
• Measurement of all building elements, upr floors, internal walls, doors and windows. Frames, structural steel and fireproofing.
• Cost Control- a function of effective cost control, VFM, principal stages of pre-contract cost planning.
• Building up of typical unit rates/labour, plant and material rates, overheads and profit.
• Cost-effective options for fireproofing [optional]
• Tendering Procedures – the purpose of tendering, principal methods of contractor selection, tender documents, tender evaluation and reporting.

Delivery is over 12 weeks starting in September 2022, each Monday afternoon and places are a premium.
